PDF Squeezer 3 App Reviews

It worked quick and well

I needed to reduce a large PDF document for my accountants and the “Reduce File Size” option in Preview didn’t work effectively, it rendered the PDF useless and blurry so I searched and found this. It downloaded quick, installed quick and created a PDF half the size which still looked good in a few moments. Thanks for creating this.

PDF Squeezer - doesn’t !

Have tried numerous PDF documents, but none have been reduced. Will keep trying.

saved me!

After spending hours trying to compress these important pdf files that I needed to email but needless to say they were too huge!! and I couldn’t have just used some online thing to compress them, they’re important! That and I the fact I always had trouble sending e-mails and always ended up sending 8 emails instead of one. But FINALLY! this app done the job in a minute!! LOVE IT.

Easy, Quick, Effective

This is a wonderful application for doing just what it says: decrease the size of pdf’s. This application worked fantastic, and it’s great how you can choose your desired quality!

Works great

Shrinks the big PDFs loaded with pics down to manageable sizes. Updates continually improve the app as well, well worth the money

Just as advertised

Not a lot to say. It just works. I love that I can preview the doc at each resolution before saving.

Doesn’t work.

Everything I try to squeeze shows “Compressed by 0%” - wow! $4 down the drain.

Don’t waste your money

It reduces my PDF files by 0% every single time, even if I lower the dpi. Terrible product.

Great.

Works like descriped! Perfekt. Make sure there are images to compress within your file ;)

Does not compress most files that I try

I have had this program for about 12 months, and has not met my needs 90% of the times that I have tried it. I am a faculty member and commonly create very large PowerPoint presentations. Most of the presentations are 4-5mb in PowerPoint and become 5-8mb once they are saved as a PDF. I bought this program hoping to compress those PDF files to 2-3mb prior to distributing the files to students. However, about 90% of the time, I get an error, that even if I compress to 72 DPI with low resolution, the file size “cannot be reduced” with PDF squeezer. I am now looking for another similiar application to fulfill this need that is unmet by PDF Squeezer.

Works well for my scan/OCR files

I am doing scan and OCR of old papers at 300dpi, creating 100-200MB PDF files. I wanted to Send to Kindle so that I could review the results, but Send to Kindle has a 50 MB file size limit. This program gave me good compression and the files look fine on the kindle. Of course I kept the original large files for archive purposes. I have not tried this app for other types of files, but for this specific usage it’s perfect.

Reduces PDF by 0%

This app did not work at all. Every time I tried to reduce a pdf so I could attach it to an email the app reduced it by 0%.

Waste of money

This program only squeezes your wallet! I emailed the developer…and no response.

Works as Step After Image Capture to PDF

This tool was the charm for me. Mac OS supports pdf natively in the OS. It drives me crazy that I need to spend $200 to buy Acrobat to make pdf’s from a scanner. I just scanned a 2 page b/w document at 300 dpi with Image Capture and the image was 4.51MB. This is something I want to email and it’s just huge. After processing it through PDF Squeezer, it’s now .44MB for a 90% reduction. It clearly states that it only compresses images. If you are scanning using Image Capture to pdf and need to reduce the size while still keeping a quality document, this is for you. I got the image further down to .38MB by exporting from Preview as a b/w document before processing through PDF Squeezer. It works for scanned documents and is just what I needed !

Not Worth the Money

It only squeezed about 10% for a pdf file size of 30MB. I had to buy another app to split the file. The other app costs only half of the price, but can do split, merge, extract, and compress.

Awesome & Easy to Use - Works Really Well

I love this app! I use it every day....I hate when my scanner scans paper into files way too large to e-mail to someone (happens all the time...jjust regular documents, and not very long...it give me more than 1 MB per page scanned!). But lowering the scanner resolution also lowers the scan quality too much. Ive tried everything, and it just seems to be the way the scanner is made. But in my frustration, I stumbled upon PDF Squeezer.....I dont know how Squeezer works, but the developer is owed a big THANK YOU from me!....the app take my scanners HUGE multi-megabyte scans of regular documents, and with a simple "click, drag and drop" - and Presto! Ive now got a manageable sized file that doesnt take up precious space on my MacBook Airs relatively small solid state drive (and I can actually email long documents or other big files to people instead of having to upload to Dropbox and creating a shared file. Great Job to the developer/author....thanks a million! (a true million - megabytes that I have litterally Squeezed out of existence!)

Fantastic APP!

Used to struggle trying to reduce PS-created PDF files, only to find reducing size generated unwanted artifacts or degraded clarity: PDF SQUEEZER performs flawlessly, reducing files substantially while retaining sharp clarity! Thank you, Daniel!

Didn’t beat Preview

I bought this to compress a 50 page, photo heavy 11mB file to get down below 10mB to email. Well it did not better than Preview compression. After I bought it I tried the help function. It says: "Like all other PDF compression tools PDF Squeezer does not reduce the size of PDF files that have already been compressed." Why doesn’t it say that BEFORE I buy it? Preview does the same thing. I would like a refund but I do not think I can do that.

Permanent home in my dock

Continued improvements to the app make it simple to use and yet quite powerful in compression. It may not work every single time because of how compressed a file is at start, but usually with another try or two with a different setting, youll get what you need. It’s been indispensible for me for a few years already!

Great Time saver

After repeated attempts to reduce a pdf file size on my MAC I kept on losing the quality. The document was unreadable. I bought this app and it reduced the file size from 34 MB to 1.3 mb. The quality remained intact. Great app. I love it. Easy to use too.
